1. Who is responsible

Sleep2Story is operated by Lale Nebiyeva, based in Azerbaijan. This policy covers the Sleep2Story app, its narration service and sleep2story.com.

For privacy questions or requests, email info@sleep2story.com.

2. Information we process

  • Your account: email address, a password hash, account identifiers, sign-in sessions and records of the agreements and permissions you accept.
  • Your stories: the text, titles and languages you submit, generated narration and information about its creation and playback. Do not include sensitive personal information in a story unless you intend it to be processed as part of the narration.
  • Voice profiles: the recording you provide, its transcript, an optional voice name and the voice reference used to create synthetic speech. A recording can identify its speaker. We use it for narration, not to verify a person's identity.
  • Optional family details: a child's name, birth year and preferred language if an adult adds them to their account.
  • Devices and notifications: device and session identifiers, platform, app language and a push notification token when notifications are enabled.
  • Service activity and security: requests, IP address, browser or device information, error and processing information, and account-linked operational events such as registration and the outcome of a narration request.
  • Optional app analytics: if you enable analytics, events such as app opens, screens, button use, playback and session duration. These events can be linked to your account. This choice is off by default and is separate from the operational records needed to run the service.
  • Messages and reports: information you send when asking for support or reporting a problem, including the content or account identifiers needed to investigate it.

3. How we use information

We process this information to create and secure your account, create the narration you request, store and play your stories, manage usage limits, send service messages and requested notifications, investigate errors and misuse, and answer requests.

Optional analytics helps us understand use of the app and website. Where we ask for consent, you can withdraw it through the relevant settings. Withdrawing optional analytics consent does not stop essential account, security or narration processing.

You must have the speaker's permission before submitting a voice recording and the necessary rights to the story text. See Voice consent and our Terms of use.

4. Processing and service providers

Creating a voice profile or narration sends your recording or text to our servers. It is not performed entirely on your phone. The current narration service uses our hosted VoxCPM voice model to condition speech on your voice reference.

Hosting and storage providers process information needed to operate the service. We use Beget for service email delivery, such as account recovery messages. If you enable push notifications, delivery uses Google's Firebase Cloud Messaging and the applicable device notification service. See Google's Privacy policy. Notification delivery does not require including the story text or an audio download address in the notification payload.

Some older voice or audio records may have been created through the previous fal.ai processing service. Deleting these records may require that provider to complete a deletion request.

We may also disclose information where necessary to comply with a valid legal requirement, investigate misuse or protect people and the service. The service and its providers may process information outside your country; contact us for information about current processing locations and the safeguards applicable to your request.

5. Storage and deletion

Story text remains in your account until you delete it or your account. Under the current retention settings, generated audio is normally kept for 90 days and a voice reference for 365 days. Using a voice for a new narration can extend its retention period. Expired files are removed by periodic cleanup, which can take longer if a storage service is unavailable. The service is not a permanent archive; keep a separate copy of anything you need to preserve.

Operational and optional app analytics events are kept for up to 180 days under the service's event retention settings. Turning off optional app analytics deletes the corresponding optional client events. Operational events are managed separately.

When you delete your account, account records, sessions, registered devices, family details, stories, narrations and voice profile records are removed, and deletion of associated stored media is requested. Physical file or provider deletion may finish later if a storage service is unavailable and the request must be retried. Operational events are detached from your account and expire under their retention period.

Limited anti-abuse and free-usage records can remain after account deletion. These include a protected fingerprint of the account email and the time at which an applicable usage limit expires, so deleting and recreating an account cannot bypass a free-use limit. They do not preserve the account's stories or voice recordings.

Ready-to-play audio is stored on the server and can also be downloaded into the app's local cache. The current device's local media is cleared when you sign out or delete the account. Copies you exported, shared or kept on another offline device cannot be remotely recalled by deleting a server record. Logs, backups and provider records may have separate retention obligations; contact us about a particular deletion request.

6. Your choices and requests

You can manage stories and voices in the app, turn off optional analytics, change notification permission in your device settings and request account deletion from the app's account settings.

You can also email info@sleep2story.com to request access, correction, deletion or a copy of your information, or to ask about other privacy rights available where you live. We may need to verify that the account or recording belongs to you before acting. Applicable law may allow or require us to retain some information or decline part of a request; we will explain this where relevant.

If you believe a voice was used without permission, contact us with enough information to locate the voice or narration. Do not send a password or a new voice recording by email.

7. Website cookies and analytics

The website remembers a language choice for up to one year. It also remembers your analytics choice for up to 180 days.

Google Analytics loads only after you allow website analytics. Advertising features and Google Signals are disabled. The analytics page address is limited to the page path and supported campaign parameters; an external referrer is limited to its site origin. Google Analytics has its own service-side retention settings, separate from cookie expiry.

When analytics is allowed, your browser connects to Google and Google processes technical connection information, including your IP address, under its Privacy policy. This is separate from your Sleep2Story app analytics choice.

The website is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub processes the connection information needed to serve it, including IP address and request information, even if you decline optional analytics. See the GitHub Privacy Statement.

Use Analytics settings in the footer to review or change your choice. Declining leaves the Google tag unloaded. Withdrawing a previous choice removes the website's Google Analytics cookies and reloads the page. You can read these documents and use the website without accepting optional analytics.

8. Children and policy updates

Sleep2Story accounts are for adults. Children may listen with an adult's supervision. An adult who adds a child's details is responsible for providing only the information needed and having authority to do so. Do not let a child create an account or submit personal information independently.

We may update this policy when the service or its processing changes. The date at the top identifies the current version. Where a change requires a new permission or notice, we will ask for it or provide the notice through the service.
