Voice consent
What permission is needed before creating a synthetic voice in Sleep2Story.
Last updated
1. Permission before recording
A familiar voice is personal. Before creating a voice profile in Sleep2Story, the adult speaker must understand and freely agree to how their recording will be used. An account holder cannot give permission on behalf of another competent adult.
Use your own voice, or ask the speaker directly before recording or uploading theirs. A recording found online, sent in a message or made for another purpose does not by itself provide permission to create a synthetic voice.
2. What the speaker agrees to
The speaker needs to understand that:
- The recording is uploaded to Sleep2Story's service, operated by Lale Nebiyeva in Azerbaijan, and processed into a voice reference.
- The service uses that reference to create artificial speech from story text submitted by the account holder. The speaker will not have personally spoken every generated sentence.
- The recording, reference and generated audio are stored for the service's operation and may be handled by the service providers described in our Privacy policy.
- Generated audio can be downloaded or shared by the account holder. Copies already exported or shared cannot necessarily be recalled later.
- The speaker can ask to stop future use and request deletion. Stored media deletion may take additional time when a storage service or a previous processing provider must finish the request.
Give the speaker a chance to read this page, our Privacy policy and Terms of use before they decide. Do not pressure them or describe the generated audio as an original recording.
3. Your responsibility
When you confirm voice consent in the app, you confirm that you are the adult speaker or have obtained the adult speaker's informed permission for this use. Keep a record of permission if you are using another person's voice, and stop using it if they withdraw permission.
Permission for family stories does not authorize fraud, deceptive impersonation, harassment, unlawful content or other uses outside what the speaker agreed to. You also need the necessary rights to the story text.
This page explains the permission needed; reading it does not submit a recording or create a voice profile.
4. Withdrawing permission
If you control the account, remove the voice from the app and stop creating or sharing new audio with it. You can request deletion of the account and its stored content through account settings.
If your voice was used by someone else, or you need help withdrawing permission, email info@sleep2story.com. Tell us which account, voice or story is involved if known. We may ask for information needed to verify and locate the recording; do not email a password or an additional voice recording unless a secure process has been arranged.
Withdrawing permission stops authorized future use. It cannot undo audio that has already been heard or guarantee removal of independently saved or shared copies.
